Hello + Welcome to our Overdose Prevention Course.

I am Stoney Faye, the Director of Harm Reduction Outreach for OSWC. I started this project after my friend + love, Tristan Lee Gladstein, overdosed in 2023, in a frantic attempt to make sure my friends could access Narcan. I had no idea then what this project would become.

This course will not only teach you about administering naloxone, but also, the brain and addiction, the drug war, and the opioid crisis.

I hope you take away from the course what you wanted to learn, and a few extra facts.

Before we begin I want to remind you that the opioid epidemic is different from other problems in our work because you and I can fix it. This is not an issue that requires political upheaval, or global changes for resolution.

This is an issue that can be solved through grassroots work, education and naloxone.
